Karen Burns Fine Art

Get Up, Brush Yourself Off, 24"x24", oils on linen

From the Still Life Collection

Get Up, Brush Yourself Off — I could not let go of this idea of scattering the vintage brushes on the floor and arranging them. Those worn and weathered bristles and the dried paint on the handles were calling me. Very happy to say that this painting has been accepted as a Finalist in The American Artists Professional League 98th Grand National Exhibition at the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City. I have also been awarded the honored Signature Member Status with The American Artists Professional League.

I am a representational classic artist living and working in Granite Bay and Truckee, California. I enjoy showcasing vintage items often with a different perspective, capturing the patina of  everyday items. It is the history that holds my attention. Works have been in numerous local, national, and international exhibitions including 7 Best of America Exhibitions. You can read more about me here: Karen Burns.
