Retired Service, 24"x30", Oils on Linen
Thank you Spotlight Magazine for selecting Retired Service for your publication. Having given a good, long life of service, these pieces have been retired to the prop cupboard. I really enjoy painting the tarnish and shine of metal. . . Most things you figure out along the way in life and some of those things take years to understand. I miss the smell of morning coffee at the old farmhouse. And I miss having coffee with Dad. That's his old coffee pot 3rd one down from the top of the stack. The lid is balanced, bottom right. The lid represents me, becasue I always leaned on him. This painting spent time at the James R Ross Fine Art Gallery in Indianapolis, Illinois, for the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society BEST OF AMERICA Exhibition from October 2nd through October 25th, 2025. Sincere thanks to NOAPS for this honor. You can view this work at a larger scale here: Service Retired
