Frequently Asked Questions

 Answers to frequently asked questions.

I don't do "perfect" - the imperfections in my artwork are proof that your purchase is unique and hand painted. No other artwork will have that same trait of character, which makes me happy. In addition to using many hand-me-down items from family I also enjoy using the occasional thrift store find because these items have character. Sometimes we love the well worn items because they have weathered the storms.

2. None of your financial info is stored. Everything goes through PayPal or Stripe and I don't even see your method of payment.

4. I work in oils and use professional grade paints, mediums, and archival linen panels. The professional panels are Belgian Linen sourced from Raymar Art or from Belle Arti Italy. The surface gives a very fine finish to the work.

5. Most artworks are shipped framed and ready to hang. Just send me a note and I will be happy to respond with images of paintings framed. You can check out: Types of Frames Most Often Used to get an idea of how I frame the works. Shipping fees are calculated by the shipper and will be invoiced to you separately.

6. Import duties, brokerage fees, etc. are not included in pricing or shipping costs. Please check with your country's customs office to determine if there will be any additional costs.

7. All artwork is varnished and ready for you to hang and enjoy in your home. Smaller, unframed works can be propped on a shelf or placed on a small easel for a pop of color.

8. I began in the art world as a professional photographer teaching still life for many years. It was rare to see me without a camera in hand, but over time it was replaced with a paintbrush. Photography honed my skills for composition, but found that painting allowed me to further explore color and texture. So began the journey of working in oils. Oil painting has been the perfect "next step" for me and it has been a wonderful transition. Travel teaching was amazing though!  I've taught throughout the United States, in Southern France, and in Italy.

9. My biggest influence has always been the light. I watch the light travel across a still life set up just as I watch the light travel across the sky.
