1. An amazing easel light for those cloudy days.

2. Method Light Bulb - This is the best possible light that I have found to use when setting up a still life. Expensive, yes, but it lasts several years.

3. iPad holder - This comes in very handy. Lots of styles to chose from out there, but this is a fave. I often have the set up in front of me and a photo of it on the iPad.

4. Floor mats to protect the floor and add a bit of fun to the space. I have been known to drop a loaded palette knife with paint and it cleans up easily with these vinyl mats underneath. So many styles and colors to choose from!

5. Soft mat to keep my legs from getting fatigued.

6. The best paper towel holder ever. Seriously, it's the little things! You can tear off a half-sheet with one hand.

7. Tube racks. Perfect to hold the basics and for transporting paints. I can keep the basic palette colors handy in these. I don't use these anymore. I have repurposed an old tackle box for paints when I need to transport them to and from the cabin.

8. There is even a fireplace in this room - one of life's little luxuries on chilly mornings.

9. Computer desk area not shown - where I work on emails, show submissions, website updates, and day to day things.

10. I'm lucky to have a great big window with awesome light.

11. Prop cupboard, not shown -  the cupboard has overflowed into an upstairs room. As a former Still Life and Food Photographer I have many props.

12. Love, love, love the green mechanics desk from the '40s. Drawers hold all of my paints and they are easily accessible. Top has a glass palette which works perfect for me.

13. Large work table for photography, framing, varnishing, etc. I tend to need space and there is nothing I can do to hurt this worn tabletop. It is from an old art school in Ohio.

14. A new acquisition is a large 5-drawer flat file - perfect for storing panels while they wait for paint.

This is just an average sized room that is furnished with things I enjoy having around me. The window looks out the front of the house. I tend to put paintings in the window to dry and I've even sold a few that way! Walkers come down the court and wave at me when I'm at the easel, too. It is a great space to be in and I'm fortunate to have this room to call "studio".
