Sorrento Afternoon

On a past visit to Sorrento, Italy, we stayed in a marvelous place. Within walking distance there was a lemon orchard with mature trees. Not surprising since this is where they make some of the most amazing limoncello. But the surprising part is the fact that there was a hammock in the middle of the orchard. Obviously we climbed right into the hammock, not a care in the world. We simply enjoyed the filtered sunlight, the amazing smell of the lemons, and the warm afternoon breeze. I think of this afternoon every time I pick a lemon from my small backyard tree. My tree will never be large enough to support a hammock, but I do love it.

Sorrento Afternoon has been selected to hang in the preview show for the Placer County Artists Studio Tour at the Flower Farm Inn from August 17th through November 22nd. The Flower Farm Cafe and the Casque Winery Tasting Room are hosting local artworks in a preview showing for the tour which takes place November 11, 12, and 13.  

Sorrento Afternoon was inspired by old cupboard panel doors which were a recent "find".  These works are custom framed.
