This is Agnes. She was born in New York and was put on an orphan train in the early 1900s. She traveled across the country into the American countryside in a "placing out" effort that helped over 250,000 children find good homes in the midwest states. Agnes was adopted by my great grand parents. They happened to be in the city of St. Louis when the train full of orphans came. They took her home with them to Jefferson City, Missouri. She was loved very much.
Clearing our some of the stash from Mixed Media days, these were quite popular several years ago. I’m bringing a few back for you by repurposing dried up paints and empty paint tubes. Browse the collection, make a selection! They will disappear quickly.
