Michigan Blueberries ~ Summer vacations, camping, fishing, picking blueberries ~ great times for any kid. We would travel "up north", maybe to Houghton Lake, rent a cabin or take the camper. One time we rented a cabin that was called Duffy's Den. When they poured the front step they embedded beer bottle caps in the cement to spell out Duffy's Den. I liked walking on that step barefooted. Inside there was a loft called The Peanut Gallery where the kids got to sleep. It was where I caught my first fish! It was so small that Dad put it in a bucket of water and let me play with it before we set it free back in the lake. From the back of the cabin down to the dock it was all low growing blueberry plants and we could pick blueberries all afternoon if we wanted. Or at least pick a handful on the way to the dock.

Michigan Blueberries was inspired by old cupboard panel doors which were a recent "find".
